1. Responsable

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026 · First version: October 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MarketPOS (the "app", "we"), developed by Oort, handles information when you use our point-of-sale app for supermarkets and shops, identified by the ID co.oort.market and distributed on Google Play and the App Store.

MarketPOS is used in many countries. This policy applies to all of its users, wherever they are. If the law of your country gives you more rights or protections than those described here, those apply.

Summary: in the free version, everything you record (products, sales, customers and business details) is stored only on your device: we do not receive it or see it. We do not sell data, we show no ads and we use no tracking tools.

1. Who is responsible

Because the data you record never leaves your device, we do not process it: it stays under your control.

2. Your customers' data

When you register a customer for the loyalty program (for example, their name and phone number), you are storing another person's personal data. That data belongs to your business: you decide what to record and why, and you are responsible for it towards your customers and under the law of your country.

Depending on where your business is, this may mean informing your customers, asking for their consent or having another legal basis to keep their data. Some of the laws that may apply to you:

This list is for guidance only and is not legal advice: check the rules that apply in your country.

3. What data the app handles

3.1 Data you enter

3.2 Where it is stored

In the free version, all of this data is stored in the app's private storage on your device. It may be included in your phone's own backup (Google or iCloud), depending on how you have it set up. We have no access to it.

If in the future you turn on a cloud sync feature (Premium), we will tell you inside the app and update this policy before any of your data leaves the device.

3.3 Data we do not collect

4. What it is used for

5. Who it is shared with

No one. Because the data never leaves your device, we do not share it with third parties. We would only hand it to an authority if the law required it and we had it.

We do not sell or share personal information, including what laws such as California's CCPA/CPRA treat as "selling" or "sharing", and we do not use it for advertising.

6. International transfers

Because your data never leaves your device, we do not send it to any country. If your phone backs up to Google or iCloud, those backups are governed by Google's or Apple's terms, and they may store them on servers in other countries.

7. App permissions

You can revoke any permission from your device settings.

8. Retention and deletion

Data is kept on your device for as long as the app is installed. You can delete products from the app, and all data is erased when you uninstall it or clear the app's data from the system settings.

9. Security

Data stays in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot access. We recommend protecting your device with a screen lock, since anyone who unlocks it can open the app.

10. Your rights

Depending on the law of your country, you may have the right, among others, to access your data, correct or update it, delete it, object to or restrict its processing, take it to another service (portability) and withdraw your consent. Because the data is on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly from the app and the system settings.

You can also lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country, for example the Superintendencia de Industria y Comercio (SIC) in Colombia, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) in Spain or the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD) in Brazil.

11. Children

The app is intended for businesses and adults (18 or the age of majority set by the law of your country). It is not meant for children and does not knowingly collect their data.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change how data is handled, especially if any of it starts leaving the device, we will update this page and let you know inside the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
